A Dinner in Tribute to Stella Jean by Sherri McMullen, Tania Fares, and Stéphanie Horton

Behind this exquisite dinner held at the equally magnificent Hôtel du Duc de Gesvres in Paris stands a trio of powerful women: Sherri McMullen, Tania Fares and Stephanie Horton. During the Regency and the Louis XV periods, the Hôtel de Gesvres became the most famous gambling den in Paris. In 1827, this temple of debauchery suffered a major hit, as it was partly destroyed by the construction of the Passage de Choiseul. Its sumptuous lounges have been perfectly preserved, magnificently restored and reconditioned in their original style by two passionate interior designers, Joseph Achkar and Michel Charriere. This was the magnificent setting that Sherri McMullen, founder of the Oakland-based international luxury fashion boutique, Tania Fares, co-founder and co-chair of the Fashion Trust US and the British Fashion Council Foundation Charity, and Stephanie Horton, Director of Global Consumer Marketing at Google Commerce, chose for this dinner in tribute to Stella Jean. For those who aren’t acquainted with Stella Jean, she is a renowned Haitian-Italian designer who constantly uses her platform to address the need for better representation and financial support for designers of colour in the Italian fashion industry. The prestigious dinner was attended by Cori Taylor, Peter Griffith, Aisha Ayensu, Melanie Grant, Debra Shaw and Edward Buchanan.
