The Ritz Paris 125th Anniversary Gold Gala Lights Up Place Vendome
On Thursday 14 September, the Ritz Paris hosted a memorable evening to celebrate its 125th anniversary, an event attended by over 700 guests including a host of celebrities from the worlds of fashion, arts, and entertainment. This outstanding gala paid homage to César Ritz, the visionary founder of the hotel, and was placed under the theme of Gold, thus evoking the founder of the famous Place Vendôme Louis XIV, also known as the Sun King.
The gardens of the Hotel sparkled brightly as ever with a rich programme orchestrated by Frédéric Fontan, which featured live performances by over 90 artists. The sumptuous scenography, specially designed for the occasion, was reminiscent of the great festivities at the Château de Versailles. Thomas Roussel, conductor and composer, was entrusted with the musical direction of the evening.
The evening unfolded in 3 acts: “le roi chante” (the king sings), “le roi danse” (the king dances), and “tout le monde danse” (everybody dances). Guests were also able the enjoy outstanding performances by the duo Charlie Voodoo and Théophile Alexandre, accompanied by dancers inspired by the exuberant Marquise Casati, Etoile dancer Alice Renavand and dancers from the Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris – Florent Melac, Roxane Stojanov and Takeru Coste – the Electrostreet, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Ritz Paris and its musicians, but also DJs sets by back to back Desiderata, Pedro Winter and Kiddy Smile… not to mention Daphné Bürki, the glowing Mistress of Ceremonies of the night.
The Ritz Paris General Manager, Laurent Herschbach, was in attendance alongside the numerous celebrities who came to celebrate the anniversary: Léa Seydoux, Tomer Sisley, Laurent Lafitte, Isabelle Adjani, Vincent Dedienne, Vahina Giocante, Lyna Khoudri, Virginie Ledoyen, Geraldine Nakache, Alice Isaaz, Anne Marivin, Louise Monot, Raphaël Personnaz, Mathilda May, Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Hiba Abouk, Lola Dewaere, Hafsia Herzi…

The gala was topped off with a delicious note by Jérôme Legras, Executive Chef of the Ritz Paris, François Perret, the hotel’s Head Pastry Chef, and Romain de Courcy, Head Barman, who all brought out their finest to delight guests’ palates with their culinary creations. It was an extraordinary evening to celebrate 125 years of the legendary hotel and mark the Ritz Paris in eternity.
