Rolex Daytona x Le Mans: The Winner’s Watch

If ever there was a legendary watch, it could well be this Daytona chronograph, which bewitched collectors for thirty years. Firstly introduced by Paul Newman in the late 60s, the model fell into disuse over the following decade before making a comeback in the early 90s. In gold, it was available with a clear (meteorite) dial and a black counter. The opposite configuration, however, black dial on white counter, has not existed since the very first series. To mark the 100th anniversary of The 24 Hours of Le Mans, which took place last weekend, Rolex surprised everyone by offering this special version with a white counter. Needless to say, collectors are queuing up to get their hands on this marvel.
