The Fondation Pernod Ricard Highlights the Work of Mathilde Rosier with the Exhibition “In the Fields of Intensive Prosperity”
The Fondation Pernod Ricard is now home to the work of Mathilde Rosier in an exhibition curated by Chus Martinez. Featuring video installations, glass pieces, sculptures and paintings, all dating from different creative periods, this retrospective offers a colourful and in-depth overview of Mathilde Rosier’s oeuvre. Transformed by the artworks into a fertile environment populated by plants and species of all kinds, the Foundation’s exhibition space offers a place for art and nature to coexist harmoniously.
In order to accentuate the ecological dimension of her works, the French artist has always adopted an immersive, almost holistic approach. Mathilde Rosier’s body of work offers a ground for reflection on the evolution of human societies and the modifications and transformations they imposed on other species in order to survive. Through her pieces, the artist thinks about, and suggests, the complexity of crossing the barrier between the state of nature and the state of being truly human. Fields as far as the eye can see and gigantic plants constitute this unique meeting point that serves as a bridge between human and natural logic, poetically reminding us of this nourishing relationship.
