We are talking about yet another one of those 19th-century New York banks, so widespread in The Big Apple before the crisis of the 30s. Located at the corner of Canal and Orchard, this splendid Beaux-Arts-style building stretches proudly to the sky, boasting its noble materials and strenuous soul. This majestic building was originally built in 1912, to be the home of the second bank of its namesake, which failed five years later in the hands of his son. Long since abandoned, the edifice was taken over by a group of meticulous architects with the aim of restoring its former glory. The transformation is complete. Now an equally marvellous hotel welcomes us to step into its precious marble, and savour its meticulously curated vintage decor and breathtaking views.
