“In recent years, fashion brands have been looking up at design a lot. The Miami fair, for instance, bears witness to this. Multiple fashion houses will be attending this year, including Bottega Veneta, who will collaborate with Gaetano Pesce,” tells us Maria Cristina Didero, Curatorial Director of Desing Miami. And so it is, the Italian brand brings the Come stai? chair to Miami. Designed by Gaetano Pesce and Matthieu Blazy for Bottega Veneta, this collaboration was first presented at the Summer 23 Fashion Show. The chairs are reproduced in series and each one is made of the same materials, yet they remain unique in colour and shape, celebrating diversity and its nuances. For the Bottega Veneta fashion show, the designer created a swirling floor and 400 resin chairs, which served as seats for the attendees of the show. The face of the campaign: Kate Moss. Shot without veils, loose hair and natural make-up, the iconic model is seated on a chair with Bottega Veneta written on it. The ad caused a stir on social media as soon as it was released by the fashion house. First, a chair for the fashion show, then a chair for Kate Moss and now a selection of these chairs will be exhibited and offered for sale at Design Miami, the contemporary art fair that runs from November 30 to December 4. A book titled Come stai?, dedicated to the collaboration has also been produced for the occasion. It will be featuring contributions by Blazy and Maria Cristina Didero, as well as a conversation between Gaetano Pesce and curator Hans Ulrich Obrist.
