GAUCHERE’s SS23 Collection plays on contrasts
Marie-Christine Statz chose to set up shop at the Passage des Jacobins in the 1st arrondissement to present her spring-summer 2023 collection. A rather appropriate choice since this beautiful glass and cement space contrasted perfectly with the brand’s summer aesthetic proposals.
The concrete walls coupled with a beautiful collaboration with naive art artist Camille Henrot made it seem like the collection was somehow raw, but it is actually about precise cuts and finesse.
Devoured and cut pieces reveal the body with subtlety. Folds are perfectly mastered and, as often at GAUCHERE, Taylorism is sharp. The brand seems to have ventured into new territory. And it is a success.
