Galerie Nathalie Obadia opens new Youssef Nabil exhibition in Paris
The Galerie Nathalie Obadia just opened the fourth exhibition of the artist Youssef Nabil. Highly personal and largely composed of self-portraits and landscapes, “Memory of a Happy Place” unveils a series of twenty previously unseen photographs, as well as a new film titled “The Beautiful Voyage”. Born in Egypt, Youssef Nabil left the country in 2003 at the age of thirty. Since then, he has maintained an ambivalent relationship with his native country and delivers in his romantic work the portrait of a life built through travel, where he tells his melancholy existence shaped by exile. Last Friday, the gallery invited their close friends, specialists and professionals of contemporary art to discover the new exhibition. Jack Lang, Charlotte Rampling, Rabih Kayrouz or Pierre Rainero all came to congratulate the artist.
