The Galeries Lafayette celebrate 50 years of Smiley
Fifty years, and still smiling! From February 21 to April 3, Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann is celebrating Smiley’s 50th anniversary. The iconic brand embodied by the smiling face is taking over the Parisian department store for a series of colorful animations. At the center of this anniversary, the “50 for 50” pop-up store for which Sarah Andelman has gathered fifty brands to revisit the world of the Smiley. A pop-up featuring exclusive capsule collections, notably with Karl Lagerfeld, and a brand new Smiley revisited by artist André Saraiva. The whole event was supported by a “feel good” playlist concocted by Radio Nova and completed by a skate park with Impala and a “gaming area” worthy of the best arcades. Here’s a look back on this anniversary party with Julien Granel, Teki Latex or Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
