Vogue Paris celebrates 100th anniversary at Palais Galliera

Founded by Condé Nast in 1920, Vogue Paris just celebrated its 100th anniversary with a major exhibition at the Palais Galliera. “Vogue Paris 1920 – 2020” retraces the rich history of the legendary magazine (the only title of the group to bear the name of a city and not a country). A story told by its various editors: Michel de Brunhoff, Edmonde Charles-Roux or Carine Roitfeld and Emmanuelle Alt more recently. Vogue Paris has been at the forefront of fashion and creativity for a century. While the exhibition presents nearly 400 photographic works from its archives (as well as a selection of haute couture garments), the magazine has always been able to look to the future and towards modernity. Still, you’ll love looking back at the iconic images by Guy Bourdin, Georges Hoyningen-Huene, David Bailey, Juergen Teller and Jean-Baptiste Mondino on display here, with a special honor given to Catherine Deneuve and Kate Moss, who hold the record for being featured in the most covers over the years. Delayed by a year for reasons we all know, this historic anniversary was celebrated during Paris Fashion Week with a cocktail party at the Palais Galliera. Roger Lynch, CEO of Condé Nast, Anna Wintour and Eugénie Trochu, recently appointed Head of Editorial Content of the magazine, had invited some of the most influential creative personalities to join in on the celebration. Among them: Edward Enninful (British Vogue), Naomi Campbell, Simon Porte Jacquemus, Olivier Rousteing or top models Cindy Bruna and Natasha Poly.
