Jean-Charles de Castelbajac presents ‘The People of Tomorrow’ at the Centre Pompidou
With ‘The People of Tomorrow’, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is taking over the Centre Pompidou’s Galerie des Enfants from September 25. Conceived as a playful and performative workshop, the exhibition offers to awaken artistic sensibilities and to rediscover the life’s work of the French artist through his passion for colors, symbols and signs. Thanks to eight educational devices, children and adults are invited to invent flags and totems embodying their emotions within a journey that is both artistic and poetic. Jean-Charles de Castelbajac also called on musician Julien Granel to come up with the sound identity of several of the activities, such as a sound hopscotch or a graphic parition allowing participants to compose their own music based on symbols designed by the artist. Jean-Charles de Castelbajac succeeds JR, Claude Closky, Françoise Pétrovitch and Yaacov Agam for this exhibition-workshop open until May 9.
