Olivier Dwek presents “In the Light of Modernity”
Olivier Dwek is passionate about contemporary art. A graduate from the Beaux-Arts, the Brussels-based architect (who created his own architecture firm in 2000) has made a name for himself for his approach close to the work of a museum’s curator. A firm believer that architecture and interior design should always be connected, Dwek has excelled in a diverse range of projects, from furnishing luxury boutiques for brands like Louise Vuitton or designing modern villas on the Ionian Islands. The architect is also used to working for galleries and art centers, which explains his love for the work of contemporary artists Louise Bourgeois, Charlotte Perriand, or Jean-Michel Basquiat – for which he always finds the perfect spot in his projects. This May, Rizzoli New York presents a new book dedicated to Dwek’s œuvre in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of his firm. “Olivier Dwek: In the Light of Modernity” highlights his signature style of modern European luxury with texts by architecture expert Philip Jodidio. On this occasion, Olivier Dwek teamed up with Paris-based agency Favori to organize a book signing at Galerie Downtown-Laffanour. It was the perfect occasion for architecture enthusiasts to (finally) come together and get their own signed copy of the book.
