Trudon X Balmain : Burning desire

It’s no mystery everybody loves to light a Trudon candle, and Olivier Rousteing is no exception to that reality. So when it came to collaborating with the brand, the artistic director of Balmain didn’t just put his name on the object or an existing scent. He asked a specialist, Émilie Bouge at Robertet, to design the identity of ‘Ernesto’ down to the very last detail. The result is a skillful mix of leathery notes, Atlas cedarwood, gunpowder, cigar notes as well as black rose. But a Trudon candle is not only about the scent, it is above all a beautiful object. Here, the stripes dear to Rousteing are featured in a duo of lacquered glass and gold leaf, which minuscule cracks appear once the flame starts burning.
