Romain Goupil presents his film “Hans Hartung, the Fury of Painting” in preview
In October, Paris’ Modern Art museum inaugurated a major retrospective dedicated to Hans Hartung, one of the great precursors of abstract art. The opening of the exhibition (the first of its kind in France since 1969) brought together leading names in art and culture, such as Jacques Villeglé, Yan Pei-Ming and Larry Clark. As part of this exhibition, ARTE and the Hartung-Bergman Foundation hosted a preview of the film directed by Romain Goupil and co-written by Thomas Schlesser, Director of the Foundation. Produced by ARTE and Les Poissons Volants, “Hans Hartung, la fureur de peindre” will be broadcast on the Franco-German channel on November 17th at 4:55 PM (also on arte.tv until January 15th). ARTE invited a handful of VIP guests to discover the film at the Goethe Institut in Paris including actor Louis Garrel, musician Dominique Mahut, sociologist Michel Wieviorka and historian Laurence Bertrand Dorléac. After the screening, everyone gathered at the Museum of Modern Art for a night visit of the exhibition “Hans Hartung, la fabrique du geste” in the presence of the exhibition’s curator Odile Burluraux.
