New York in Paris: Printemps Haussmann opens The Marc Jacobs corner
It’s official. The Marc Jacobs has landed in The Paris, France. The iconic American designer’s new label now has a home at Paris’ Printemps department store. To celebrate the launch of this exclusive boutique, friendly faces from both sides of the Atlantic came together for a DJ set by Kiddy Smile, smiley face-adorned sweaters from the collection and smiling faces all night long. The designated The Marc Jacobs “corner” on the 4th floor of Printemps Femme overflowed with a packed crowd, but that didn’t stop guests from taking center stage to make space show off their Vogueing skills. The buzzed-about collection blends reimagined archive pieces with new collaborations with long-time muse and fellow France- loving American Sofia Coppola plus Stephen Jones, Juergen Teller, Peanuts and brands like Liberty and Schott. Think: cashmere hoodies, prairie dresses, thermals and flared corduroy jeans. An eclectic collection for an eclectic crowd that included Peggy Frey and a royal who’s who of drag queens including duo Rose & Punani. New York vibes blended with Paris’ cool crowd: the perfect cocktail to celebrate this collection designed to be mixed & matched.
