Paris Gallery Weekend inaugurates its sixth edition
Paris Gallery Weekend has become a calendar event for collectors and lovers of contemporary art. Hosting its latest edition from May 17-19, 48 galleries participated in a rich program of exhibitions and events that put the spotlight on the Parisian art scene, with all its dynamism and diversity. Marion Papillon, who launched Paris Gallery Weekend through her association CHOICES, created in 2014, is also on the board of the event. Other board members include Séverine Waelchli (Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac) and Anne-Sarah Bénichou–who were recently joined by Fabienne Leclerc (Galerie In Situ), Éric Dereumaux (Galerie RX) and Jérôme Poggi. Paris Gallery Weekend’s opening dinner was held in the vaulted halls of the Conciergerie de Paris, which welcomed nearly 350 French and foreign galleries, institutions, artists, collectors and artists. Guests included Nathalie Vallois, Yvon Lambert, Daniel Templon, Camille Morineau (whom Say Who spoke with before) and André Magnin. This sixth edition of Paris Gallery Weekend received support from UNESCO, the Centre Pompidou and the Centres Monuments Nationaux.
