OMEGA celebrates 50 years of man’s first steps on the moon
The Speedmaster—famous for being the only watch to have been worn on the moon—is an icon of the OMEGA company. It’s natural, then, that the brand is a patron for the Parisian exhibition “The Moon: From Real Travel to Imaginary Travel.” For the opening, OMEGA invited clients and journalists to enjoy an experience outside time and space: in a black-and-gold setting presided over by, of course, the moon. Guests like Claude Lelouch, Laury Thilleman, dancer Juliette Gernez and astronaut Jean-François Clervoy immersed themselves in the history of the legendary Speedmaster Moonwatch. It has now been reissued in a limited series, as a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of man’s first step on the moon. Fun fact: it is also the watch OMEGA offered Richard Nixon in 1969.
