The Place London and New Man launch their capsule collection in Paris
Simon Burstein and the brand New Man go back several years. In the early 1970s, Joan and Sidney Burstein took over the Browns store in London: an emblematic address known for its sharp selection of ready-to-wear and luxury brands. In 1982, their son Simon exported Browns to Paris and opened the men’s boutique in the capital. Among the brands represented was New Man. After running the Sonia Rykiel label for more than twenty years (Burstein was married to Sonia’s daughter Nathalie Rykiel), he took over the Browns family business until it was sold to Farfetch in 2015. Since, Burstein created The Place London, a new multi-brand boutique with two addresses in London with a third—opened just at the beginning of the year—in Paris. Located at 8 rue de l’Odéon, Burstein continued his collaboration with New Man by launching a ‘70s-inspired denim capsule collection. Friends, journalists and artists came to check it out.
