Who would have ever thought it would be possible to make watches from used skateboards? Nothing impossible for Baume, the new accessible (and sustainable!) label by Baume & Mercier. The young brand has joined forces with the HRS label (short for Human Recreational Services) to create a capsule collection of watches designed according to the “upcycling” principle. An approach dear to the creator of HRS, Erik Ellington, a renowned American skateboarder who reinvents the wardrobe of the modern “rider” with his label. To launch the collection in the best way, Baume and HRS have invested the Studio des Acacias for an evening dedicated to skate. On this occasion, the ground floor was transformed into a real indoor skatepark where many skaters came to try their hand at it. On the first floor, watches proudly show their “upcycled” dials from old skateboards sourced from the personal collections of Erik Ellington and his friends.
