Paris Men’s Fashion Week is not just all about men. Although fashion shows have started in the city, there is a young brand that was all about celebrating women. While the name “Maison Père” may seem atypical for a women’s ready-to-wear label, it should be considered through the rich heritage its name contains, notably the transmission from a father to his daughter. This daughter is Camille Omerin, a young designer whose big break happened in 2014 with the launch of her brand. In 2016, Maison Père was already opening its first boutique in the Saint-Honoré area. This week, Omerin celebrated the launch of “Afterglow”, her spring/summer 2019 collection (as well as her first swimwear line) inspired by London’s Biba, also called “the most beautiful store in the world”. At Villa Rose, Camille Omerin invited her early friends to share an intimate lunch and discover the collection with its retro-glamorous silhouettes and Art Deco influenced prints. At the table, the new generation of “biba-girls” Alice David, Emily Marant, Inès Melia or Leia Sfez share a moment of complicity, essentially a nice break from the crazy week to come.
