At Art Basel, La Prairie presents Manon Wertenbroek’s exclusive works

As an official partner of Art Basel, La Prairie put women forward in this year’s pavilion. In particular two women from two different generations. More precisely, the luxury skincare and cosmetic house paid tribute to the work of Niki de Saint Phalle, whose use of cobalt blue inspired the color of the Skin Caviar collection, to this day the brand’s most iconic collection. For this new edition of the fair, La Prairie invited young Swiss artist Manon Wertenbroek to initiate a dialogue with Niki de Saint Phalle through her unique practice of photography. Thus, after a visit of “Parcours”, a programme of installations scattered throughout the city, La Prairie’s guests participated in an “art talk” in the presence of the artist and curators Laura McLean-Ferris and Kyla McDonald, before discovering her work on the brand’s official Pavilion. There, her three creations, “Mirrors”, “Blue Portrait” and “Window Glimpse”, responded to Niki de Saint Phalle’s emblematic “Pouf Serpent Bleu”. The experience culminated with a caviar dinner at the RitzCoffier restaurant (Bürgenstock Resort) in Lucerne. This was the opportunity to (re)discover the strong links that unite La Prairie to contemporary art, before discovering the Art Basel fair that ended on Sunday, June 17.
