When you think of Chanel, Deauville quickly comes to mind. One of Gabrielle Chanel’s most cherished holiday destinations, from which she drew much inspiration, the Normandy city remains anchored in the house’s identity to date. So, to celebrate the launch of their new fragrance collection, Les Eaux de Chanel, it was obvious Deauville would offer the perfect background to discover the full extent of these new fragrances. Last week, brand ambassadors and close friends all embarked on a (both physical and sensory) journey aboard the Orient Express, which was chartered by Chanel for the occasion. Alma Jodorowsky, Alessandra Mastronardi, Lily Taïeb or Ella Purnell took their seats on the mythical train before setting foot on the iconic Deauville beach. Deauville is only one of the stops (if not the most relevant) of Les Eaux de Chanel’s olfactory experience, which includes three fragrances: “Paris-Deauville”, “Paris-Biarritz” and “Paris-Venise”. This is an hommage to the three destinations that were dearest to Coco Chanel, and the work of in-house perfumer Olivier Polge. After a visit to the Deauville-Clairefontaine Hippodrome to watch the races, the journey ended with a concert by Owlle. Her song, called “In The Dark” accompanied the whole experience…
