Two main events awaited the festival-goers on this second day of the 33rd Hyères Festival. Around noon, the jury members met journalists and friends for a lunch party by the pool in the Villa Noailles garden. Punctuated by events, workshops and meetings, the Festival also has its moments of gathering, more intimate but always much awaited by all. Around Jean-Pierre Blanc and Pascale Mussard, this Festival’s main personalities (from Jefferson Hack to Tim Blanks to Pierre Banchereau and Sophie Fontanel) had all responded present. And let’s not forget the three heads of the jury Haider Ackermann, Bettina Rheims and Christelle Kocher. Villa Noailles also welcomed Audrey Azoulay, former Minister of Culture and now UNESCO general director. In the evening, she (alongside Tilda Swinton or Michèle Lamy) also sat front row at the fashion show featuring the collections of the ten finalists competing for the Premiere Vision Grand Prize. The fashion jury (more a group of friends than colleagues for a weekend) did enthusiastically pose for photographers just as the show was about to start. Then it was time to discover what tomorrow’s fashion has to offer. Did we detect any favorites on the happy faces of the jury members? The answer will be given on Sunday evening.
