AD magazine has always had a mission to highlight artists and artisans who bring art to life through their work and innovative approaches. The various events organised by the magazine, be they AD Collections or AD Intérieurs (the most recent edition of which literally transformed the Monnaie de Paris), are events that all design and architecture enthusiasts would not dare to miss. Its new exhibition, “AD Matières d’Art”, is no exception to the rule. This Thursday evening, it found the perfect setting in the heart of the Palais d’Iéna between the columns designed in 1939 by architect Auguste Peret. A “modular” scenography designed by Vasken Yéghiayan emancipates itself from the building and shows the know-how of some forty artists, craftsmen and creators in the form of creative panels of their own making. To sublimate matter is the purpose of this exhibition where the visitor is faced with a colourful eclecticism. We have fun, for example, in front of the living woodwork of Guillaume Féau (Féau & Cie), we are fascinated by the meticulous work of plumassier Éric Charles-Donatien or by the tapestries of Manufacture Robert Four. We also find with pleasure in the ironwork by the Atelier François Pouenat the signature of Rodolphe Parente who already stood out during the last edition of AD Interieurs. With an event of this magnitude, nothing could be more logical than to meet, at the turn of a module, the familiar faces of Pierre Marie, Michel Gaubert or Chantal Thomass, and even the couple Alexandre and Sofia Sanchez de Betak who came with their new addition to the family. Because love for decoration knows no age.
