“Landscape with a Ruin” is Evan Roth’s new exhibition at the Mona Bismarck American Center. Inaugurated on October 19 in the middle of FIAC, the immersive exhibition is to be discovered until November 10 at the time of Paris Photo. The Michigan-born artist is a master at exploring the materiality of the Internet to talk about nature. For more than ten years, he has been surveying continents to assess the impact of the Internet on our societies. He draws a set of works, the Landscapes, a series of video-sculptures that question notions of time and space. The journey, initially motivated by the desire to map coastal areas where underwater Internet cables emerge from the water, has gradually given way to a personal exploration for the artist. It is what provides the visitor with a unique experience that redefines artistic practice by transforming, with romanticism drawn notably from painting, our reality.
