A weekend at Villa Noailles with the juries of Design Parade Hyères & Toulon

It was during a convivial weekend that Say Who met the juries of the 2017 editions of the Design Parade Hyères and Design Parade Toulon organised by Villa Noailles under the impetus of its charismatic founder Jean-Pierre Blanc. Chaired by Vincent Darré, the jury for the Toulon competition includes Mathias Kiss, Julien Desselle and interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch. Design Parade Toulon, specialized in interior architecture, was initiated last year to complete the Design Parade Hyères (dedicated to design) already well established for ten years, and whose jury, composed notably of architect Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte and designer Laurence Brabant, is chaired this year by Inga Sempé.
The festivities could not have got off to a better start: for the first time since its creation, the President of the Republic François Hollande went to Villa Noailles on the morning of 16 March to award the institution the “Centre d’art d’intérêt national” label. An advance in the history of the Villa which will benefit from the support of the State for its expansion project with the investment of the Villa Romaine, jewel of the heights of Hyères. After a visit of the venue and a dinner shared in a festive spirit, the two professional juries met the following day, simultaneously in Hyères and Toulon, to select the ten finalists for each of the competitions. The young designers selected will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the festival from June 29 to July 2. To be continued.
