The Pierre-Alain Challier gallery invites the artist Nicolas Lefebvre for his first major solo exhibition featuring nearly a hundred pieces.
In Nicolas Lefebvre’s work, the joint assembly of eras links continents, mixes cultures, conjugates religions, summons the sacred as much as it transfigures the trivial. He never ceases to exalt the union of the intimate and the universal through the figure of the mother goddess, an inexhaustible image of maternal love diffused throughout the entire work.
In the artist’s hands, an Egyptian eye rubs shoulders with a pre-Columbian pliers, a Nigerian coin overhangs an Amazonian headdress, a tree fern sits on a Napoleon III base…
We thus like to get lost between the sources of inspiration of Nicolas Lefebvre who convenes the office of André Breton and the workshop of Picasso in a cabinet of curiosities of the XXIst century. A cultural crossroads that celebrates the beauty of our common roots. Until November 14.
