Every year at the gates of Halloween, Converse and Pitchfork host a small party to induct the festival of the Grand Halle de la Villette. An obviously musical preview – although much calmer and more confidential than the following evenings – where journalists and friends of both brands meet. Just like at home.
This year, it’s in the heart of the HQ Parisien de Converse that the creative teams decided to set the scene and the ephemeral little stage – because Pitchfork means concert. The same scene that hosted Dornik’s young sensation live that evening, between hovering r’n’b and instrumental pop.
As for the very large stage at La Villette, it will be trodden on by a host of international artists all weekend long, including Ariel Pink and Deerhunter tonight; Rhye, Battles and Thom Yorke tomorrow; NAO, Ratatat and Lauren Garnier on Saturday evening, to name but a few. Musical rendezvous of the end of the year. Zero Night Review.
