A Shaded View On Fashion Film – the International Fashion Film Festival – founded by journalist and icon Diane Pernet – had already left its mark in 2014 by receiving one of Belgium’s fashion figures, designer Dries Van Noten. For its 8th edition from 2 to 6 December at the Centre Pompidou, the event takes another symbolic step with one of the most emblematic French couturiers in the History of Fashion: Jean Paul Gaultier.
The latter will chair the jury of the fashion short film competition. A Carte Blanche session will also be dedicated to him, moderated by journalist and critic Elisabeth Quin. ASVOFF will also offer thematic sessions with numerous guests such as Iris Van Herpen, Nicolas Godin, Nicolas Saada, Mathias Kiss… But also documentaries (including a special Cycle Arte), a special session about the history of the label Woolmark with the author Colin McDowell, conferences and even live performances like the cult band Chicks on Speed, musicians and composers Pete Drungle and LOANE for the programme of this weekend dedicated to fashion and film, and what inspires them.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the artists and the jury met at Caffè Artcurial, in the eponymous mansion, to taste the dishes of the new menu and talk about cinema, with the complicity of Peroni.
