Alfa Romeo Spider x Artcurial: The Green Diamond

Auctioned by Artcurial, this little gem is part of a larger collection, one of the biggest dedicated to Italian sports cars in Germany. A former German Olympic cyclist turned Ferrari-lover recognized by Enzo Ferrari himself, Friedrich “Fritz” Neuser put together this collection over more than six decades. At the age of 93, Mr. Neuser decided to donate the entire proceeds from this sale to the Fritz Neuser Foundation, which supports young cyclists, thus bringing together his two lifelong passions. Born in 1966, the Spider Alfa designed by Pininfarina was so successful that its production ran until 1994 in four successive series, featuring several different engines. In 1990, the design was further refined in the fourth and final edition, which brought this Spider’s exceptional history to an elegant close. The car that caught our attention has a stunning English green finish which perfectly complements the beige leather and Alcantara interior, which is in remarkable condition. This is a rarity, as barely 5% of models produced were finished in this color. Add to that an even rarer original hard top, and you’ve got one of the highlights of this sale.
