Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain Takes Over Frac Sud with their Fabulous Exhibition
The Regional Contemporary Art Funds (Frac) are public institutions of contemporary art created in 1982 as part of the decentralisation policy implemented by the state with the new regional councils to bring contemporary art to every region of France.
At Frac Sud, Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain present the exhibition “Fields of Stars”, a major installation building on their Marcel Duchamp Prize 2024 project. The Franco-Brazilian duo, who have been working together for over 20 years, offer a cosmic exploration of the stars and creation, linking science and mythology. Their works, based on the creation of alphabets of shapes, invite us to reflect on our perception of the world, time, and space, immersing us in the mystery of the creation of the universe.
At the opening, alongside the artists, we met exhibition curator Muriel Enjalran, Elodie Royer, Nathalie Abou Isaac, Michèle Sylvander, and many others.
