Inside Zegna’s Contemporary Wardrobe
After last June’s journey to Dubai, the Zegna man returns to Milan more elegant, cultured and cosmopolitan than ever, if that is even possible. Unsurprisingly, the fall winter 2026 show marks the runway debut of William Chan, Chinese actor and singer and the brand’s new global ambassador. Best Known for the viral series Love Ambition, Chan perfectly embodies the contemporary Zegna man. His outfit distils the spirit of the collection with clarity: a double-cashmere car coat with raglan shoulders, paired with a double-breasted mohair wool jacket, a knitted polo shirt in a wool-and-paper yarn and wide, tone-on-tone trousers. At its core, the collection is shaped by the idea of continuity — of generational handovers that take place through clothing. Garments are never mere objects, but life companions, designed to last, to be passed on and continually reinterpreted. Silhouettes are elongated and fluid, relaxed in attitude yet precise in execution. Coats and jackets are generous, their shoulders naturally structured, balanced by fluid, high-waisted trousers. Tailoring remains precise but opens up to new freedoms, beginning with jackets featuring double lapels and garments conceived to be worn in multiple ways, attuned to the personality of the individual. In the vision of creative director Alessandro Sartori, the collection comes to life within a family wardrobe — a physical and mental space where clothes preserve stories, memories and future possibilities. Among those present to witness this lesson in style, we spotted Lee Byung-hun, Mads Mikkelsen, Roman Coppola, Giancarlo Esposito, Lee Pace, Moustapha Diatta, Akinola Davies JR., Giacomo Giorgio and Kleber Mendoça Filho.
