The Prix des Artisans Puts French Craftswomen in the Spotlight

La Samaritaine, Paris

An initiative launched by ELLE France, ELLE à Table and ELLE Décoration, sponsored by the LVMH Group and under the patronage of the French Ministry of Culture, the Prix des Artisanes highlights the excellence of women working in the arts and crafts. Whether as fashion designers, watchmakers, winemakers, glassblowers or floral decorators, the nominees for the Prix des Artisanes showcase the finest in French craftsmanship. The prize-winners of this 5th edition will benefit from professional guidance, mentorship from Artisans d’Avenir and the Institut pour les Savoir-Faire français, as well as unique media exposure. This year, out of the 638 entries received from all over the country, several exceptional women stood out in the five categories.

The Prix des métiers de la Joaillerie et de l’Horlogerie (Jewellery and Watchmaking) went to stone cutter Alexandra Boiche, who creates ethical and sustainable jewellery thanks to her French sapphire deposit and her own cutting workshop. Laura Cambon won the Prix des métiers du Design et des Arts (Design and Tableware) thanks to her custom-made glass creations (decor, signs, lights). Milliner and hat-maker Véronica Marucci was awarded the Prix des métiers de la Mode (Fashion) for her unique creations for celebrities, Haute Couture Maisons or even the cinema. The Prix des métiers de la Sauvegarde du Patrimoine Français (Preservation of French Heritage) went to curator and cultural assets restorer Marion Herbaux, who gives new life to manuscripts, drawings, posters and vintage maps. Last but not least, Heir to a wine-making tradition stretching back centuries, oenologist and winemaker Anne-Sophie Quenard has won the Prix des Métiers de la Vigne et du Vin (Wine and Vineyard Professions) for her work on her family’s estate in Savoie.

At the awards ceremony, we met Antoine Arnault, Valérie Salomon, Véronique Philipponnat, Danièle Gerkens, as well as Diana Martinez, Chloé Valorso, Elise Blouet-Menard, Aline Houdé-Diebolt, Cécile Giorza and many others.
