The Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson Unveils its 2025 Prize-Winners at its Annual Gala Evening

Hôtel InterContinental Paris Le Grand

Heralding the opening of Paris Photo, the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson paid its own tribute to the photographic medium with a gala evening at the Hôtel InterContinental Paris Le Grand. Officially opened with speeches by Clément Chéroux and Serge Toubiana, the director and president of the Fondation, the event also provided the occasion to announce this year’s prize-winners. Awarded every two years, the Henri Cartier-Bresson Creation Award went to Tarrah Krajnak. Winner of the Rencontres d’Arles Discovery Award in 2021, the Peruvian-American photographer stands out for a practice that explores the boundaries between self-portraiture and performance, and between visual and conceptual approaches. Following Sophie Calle, the second edition of the Henri Cartier-Bresson Award for Lifetime Achievement honoured Susan Meiselas, the renowned American photographer and a member of the Magnum agency since 1976. Finally, the evening also announced Ivorian visual artist Nuits Balnéaires as the winner of the Latitudes programme, an initiative launched in collaboration with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès in 2024.

During the evening, held on November 11th, we had the pleasure of meeting Christoph Wiesner, Kamel Mennour, Guillaume Gallienne, Pascale Mussard, Sophie Calle and many others.
