Salomon Makes its Art Basel Paris Debut with Sensorial Terrains
A well-known name in sports, the French brand Salomon presented a sensitive bridge between contemporary art, movement, and outdoor culture. More than just an installation, Sensorial Terrains explored a new way of running: freer, more fluid, more sensorial. Presented in the heart of the Grand Palais, this immersive installation engaged the body and all the senses, offering an artistic interpretation of gravel running. This hybrid practice, which combines road and trail running, focuses on the experience rather than performance. In charge of the artistic direction and production, PAVILLON NOIR has signed off on a work that brings together technology, nature, and perception. Beyond its presence at Art Basel, Salomon also brought its world to the streets of Paris, transforming its flagship store on the Champs-Élysées into a pop-up art gallery with two free-access installations: Raw Reflections, a visual exploration of innovation and nature, and a participatory work centered on gravel running. Community runs were organized departing from the flagship, while the fair’s hosts and hostesses wore the brand’s shoes. This served to physically anchor the encounter between performance and creation.
