La Monnaie de Paris Welcomes the 11th Edition of Asia NOW

La Monnaie de Paris, Paris

Last Tuesday, Asia NOW opened its 11th edition at La Monnaie de Paris. True to its pioneering spirit, the fair continues to challenge and reimagine the conventions of art fairs in this special anniversary edition. Conceived as a lively, vibrant and distinctly celebratory festival, Asia NOW highlights the region’s artistic dynamism, treating Asia not as a category but as a method—a way of engaging with the world that prioritises connection over separation.

Supported by Maison Sisley, its loyal partner since 2021, this edition highlights West and South Asia, underscoring their central role in the contemporary art scene. Under the evocative title GROW, it offers a framework for thinking about art as fertile ground for transformation, dialogue and collective growth. In keeping with this approach, the public programme resonates with Leela Gandhi’s research on “affective communities,” illuminating the collaborations and shared histories that give rise to new forms of connection and understanding.

Performances, talks, installations and special projects punctuated a rich public programme, designed in collaboration with guest curators, galleries and major institutions, including Arts and Ideas (an initiative of the Visual Arts Commission of Saudi Arabia), Afalula, Colomboscope and the Lahore Biennale. The participating galleries include Esther Schipper, Sabrina Amrani, NIKA Project Space, carlier | gebauer and Kaikai Kiki.

The inaugural breakfast and opening cocktail reception were attended by a host of international artists, collectors and personalities from the art world, including Takashi Murakami, Alexandra Fain, Christine d’Ornano, Thaddaeus Ropac, Mathilde Favier and many others.
