Downtown+ Further Demystifies the Throne with a New Exhibition
Led by Luna Laffanour, downtown+ brings an experimental and cross-disciplinary touch to the collections of its mother company, Galerie Downtown | Laffanour, placing them in dialogue with contemporary creation. Organized in collaboration with Romain Bitton, the young gallery’s very first exhibition revolved around the throne, with the aim of desacralizing this seat of power and questioning the historical values traditionally associated with it. Two years later, downtown+ now unveils the second part of this exploration, this time showcasing iconic pieces by Gaetano Pesce, Andrea Branzi, Archizoom, Superstudio, and Paolo Pallucco alongside collection designs. This encounter between past and present gives rise to multiple narratives, transforming this symbol of authority into a tool for reflection and a catalyst for creativity.
At the opening on Friday, October 17th, we ran into Luna Laffanour and François Laffanour, as well as Laurent Grasso, India Mahdavi, Charles Zana, Luca Pronzato…
