Mobilier national Pays Tribute to Ensembliers
Aiming to revive the heritage of this little-known profession, the salon “Les Nouveaux Ensembliers” kicked off yesterday at Mobilier national. Professionals in design and architecture, ensembliers were introduced in 1925 during the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts. Today, this salon aims to address contemporary issues such as eco-design, sustainability, and the promotion of French creativity. The theme of this first edition is “L’Ambassade de demain” (The Embassy of Tomorrow) and ten renowned architect-decorators were given carte blanche to reimagine these spaces: Atelier Craft, Dach&Zephir, Emilieu Studio, Estudio Rain, Marion Mailaender, Mathilde Bretillot, Oud Architecture, Paul Bonlarron, Pierre Marie Studio, and Sophie Dries.
The fair is also an opportunity to discover the PAVILLON program, which showcases interior designs by the GGSV studio housed in a 200 m² apartment at the Pavillon d’Angiviller. A pop-up store by the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres is presenting reinterpretations of the Ruhlmann vase by ten selected designers. Finally, a sustainable practices laboratory, supported by the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, will be exhibiting new materials and innovations for the métiers d’art.
Formed from the merger of Mobilier national and the Cité de la Céramique Sèvres & Limoges, Les Manufactures nationales are behind this splendid exhibition and have received support from 19M and the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation. At the opening, we met Dimitri Zephir, Florian Dach, Stéphane Villard, Gaëlle Gabillet and many others.
