Berluti Pays Tribute to La Forestière at the Fondation Cino del Duca
Last night, next to the Parc Monceau and beneath the gilded ceilings of the Fondation Cino del Duca, Marc Beaugé, editor-in-chief of L’Étiquette magazine, brought together distinguished guests for a lively discussion about La Forestière. Accompanied by Head of Design RTW at Berluti Brice Mars, stylist Gauthier Borsarello, Jean Grimbert, who led Arnys (the inventor of the Forestière) for decades, and friend of the Maison Clément Ducol, Marc Beaugé discussed the fundamentals of this essential item of menswear.
Inspired by the jackets worn by gamekeepers half a century ago, La Forestière takes its name from the forests where it was born. Part blazer, part coat, it uses its hybrid design to embrace the styles of an era where the focus shifted from formal to informal, professional to casual. Originally popular with intellectuals on the Rive gauche, who saw it as the perfect addition to their nonchalant elegance, it now finds its place in our era by embracing workwear. Whether worn smartly with a tie during the week or more casually with a roll-neck jumper, La Forestière takes every path that leads to elegance.
During this lively evening, we met Jean-Marc Mansvelt, Marc Beaugé, Gauthier Borsarello, Jean Grimbert, Clément Ducol, Yorgo Tloupas, and others.
