Four years after the passing of the dearly missed creator, the Virgil Abloh ArchiveTM partnered with Nike to present Virgil Abloh : The Codes, at the Grand Palais from September 30th to October 10th, 2025. The exhibition retraces almost 20 years of creation through 20 000 archive pieces: prototypes, sketches, objects, pictures and personal creations from Abloh’s personal collections. Organised by Chloé and Mahfuz Sultan, this retrospective is an upgraded edition of the original show Virgil Abloh : The Codes, presented in 2022. It reveals how the “codes”, Abloh’s signature principles, impacted his work on clothing, shoes, architecture, music, advertising and more, unifying his multidisciplinary practice. The show also highlights Abloh’s collaborations with multiple artists, designers and athletes, putting the spotlight on creative dialogues dear to Abloh. Guests will also discover workshops, performances and screenings, offering a deeper insight into the exhibition themes and bringing together the voices of Abloh’s creative community.
During the exhibition, Colette, the emblematic Parisian concept store co-founded by Sarah Andelman, will take over in the Clemenceau rotunda with new products designed by Virgil Abloh’s closest collaborators. Iconic articles will be available for sale, including a reissue of the Virgil AblohTM x Braun collaboration and the French translation of the book Abloh-isms by Larry Warsh.
