The Marché Paul Bert Serpette Gives Carte Blanche to Uchronia

Marché Paul Bert Serpette, Saint-Ouen

On the occasion of the 2025 Flea Market in Saint-Ouen, the Marché Paul Bert Serpette presents a unique space of creative freedom made by design studio Uchronia. Julien Sebban reinvents ten stands on the theme of paradox, with guest creators coming up with original decorations illustrating instinct, chance and aesthetic split. In collaboration with the sellers, he invites antique hunters and enthusiasts to explore the world of Paul Bert Serpette.

This carte blanche highlights the inherent paradoxes of this place of competition and discoveries. The three main accesses of the site were turned into spectacular artistic thresholds thanks to monumental inflatable installations. The first entrance is covered with several inflatable columns, overrun by fragments of ancient statues, blending the solemnity of classical art and the transience of inflatable material. The second entrance is made of disproportionate household objects, including vases and precious objects. Enlarged to the extreme and assembled into giant totems, they create a paradox between fragility and gigantism. Finally, levitating chairs occupy the third entrance, all dating from different eras and sealed in translucent inflatable columns. This carte blanche transforms everyday objects into icons, between banal use and aesthetic sacralization.

During this inauguration full of surprises, which included an exclusive DJ set by Martin Solveig, we met Gilbert Kann, Julien Sebban, DJ Tigarah, Michael Kimmoun, David Jarre and Mélanie Leroy.
