La Nauve x Eric Daigre: The Other Cognac

La Nauve is a new hotel located in Cognac. While the mere mention of this globally renowned spirit instantly brings to mind the famous distilleries, it is less common to focus on the local architecture of the city it comes from, which is yet full of treasures. In response, this former Belle Époque residence was meticulously restored over a period of four years by architect Éric Daigre. The 4.5-hectare estate, crossed by the Jean-Simon Canal, combines the codes of the French upper middle class with Frank Lloyd Wright’s ‘Prairie’ style. The twelve rooms and suites offer privacy, featuring unique redwood marquetry created by cabinetmaker Christian Thierry Drevelle. Chef Anthony Carballo runs the hotel’s gastronomic restaurant, Notes, where he prepares four or seven-course meals featuring local produce, accompanied by a wine list with over 750 selections.
