Hay was founded in 2002 by Mette and Rolf Hay, a Danish couple of designers looking to create unique and functional furniture. In 2003, the company’s first collection was exhibited at the IMM International Fair in Cologne, and it was a hit. The Palissade collection is an emblematic range of outdoor furniture designed by the famous French brother duo, Ronan Bouroullec and Erwan Bouroullec. This spring 2025, the collection is being reissued in a version made from recycled polyester rope. This new hand-woven material has been used to cover the metal structure of several seats: a chaise longue, a bench, a lounge bench, an armchair and a lounge chair. While the principle remains the same, the comfort is enhanced thanks to this fibre, which has been treated for outdoor use. A marvellous piece.
