The Palais Galliera Pays Tribute to Rick Owens with “Temple of Love”

Palais Galliera, Paris

Sporting an unmistakable look that epitomises the identity of his brand, Rick Owens is arguably one of the most influential fashion designers of our time. He may not be everyone’s cup of tea, largely because it was never in his mind to appeal to the masses or adhere to standards, but there’s no denying the genuineness of his vision. Transgressive, architectural, apocalyptic, somewhat minimalist and resolutely dark, the Rick Owens silhouette has become a statement in its own right.

Thirty years after the inception of the label, the Palais Galliera is devoting an unprecedented exhibition to Rick Owens, retracing his career and the evolution of his imagery. Starring in the exhibition is none other than his wife, Michèle Lamy, a talented artist herself as well as the designer’s muse and a creative force intimately linked to the Rick Owens universe. Organised under the general curatorship of Miren Arzalluz, Honorary Director of the Palais Galliera, the scientific curatorship of Alexandre Samson and the artistic direction of Rick Owens, the “Temple of Love” exhibition runs until January 4th, 2026.

At the exhibition preview, held on Wednesday, June 25th, we spotted the power couple Rick Owens and Michèle Lamy, alongside Mirren Arzalluz, Alexandre Samson, Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, Pascal Morand, Jeanne Friot, and Alphonse Maitrepierre, to name but a few.
