Laffanour | Galerie Downtown Presents its Summer Show in Normandy
On June, Saturday 21st, the Laffanour | Galerie Downtown inaugurated its summer show in its Normandy exhibition space called ‘LH14140 — Downtown | Normandy’. A renovated 17th-century stud farm, the venue showcases modern and contemporary artists and architects every year. To coincide with its annual “déjeuner sur l’herbe”, prepared this year by GOMI Paris, the gallery is presenting a series of sculptures by Greek painter and sculptor Vassilakis Takis. Whether indoors or out, his works take over this out-of-time space by exploring invisible territories: magnetism, waves, light and even sound, which is why the preview took place on June, Saturday 21st, the day of the Fête de la Musique (a famous annual music celebration in France). In Jean Prouvé’s demountable house, located on the estate, the downtown+ gallery is also showcasing the work of Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass.
During this edition, we met Luna and François Laffanour, Michel Rein, Leo Orta, Sophie Dries and many others.
