Carel Paris Inaugurates a New Flagship in the Heart of the Marais District
On the corner of Rue de Turenne, Maison Carel is unveiling a new boutique, whose orange decor is a tribute to many great architects. Among the exceptional shoes and unique Italian-made pieces, the black-and-white checkerboard pattern hints at the work of architect and designer Andrée Putman. As for the furniture, which includes a number of vintage pieces, it is reminiscent of the colorful aesthetics of the Memphis group, the Italian design movement born in the ’80s.
Carel will also be unveiling a limited-edition card holder designed by Charles de Vilmorin, accompanied by two models of shoes and a bag with a checkerboard pattern. The space will welcome special capsule collections as well as artists and their creations. In a scenography designed by Raphaël Giannesini, Francesco Semper, Déborah Bowman and Maty Biayenda will be the first to present their installations. During the inauguration of this 70m2 flagship, we met Romain Broussard, Louane Emera, Marine Neuilly, Aliane Uwimana…
