The Fondation Cartier Hosts a Gala Dinner for the Sursock Museum in Beirut
The Fondation Cartier hosted an exceptional dinner in support of Beirut’s Sursock Museum, bringing together 190 prestigious guests from the worlds of art, culture, heritage and philanthropy. This special moment transcended traditional cultural circles to become a powerful demonstration of resilience, a vibrant call for cultural solidarity, and a shared commitment to Lebanon’s artistic future.
Named after its founder, the Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock Museum is Beirut’s first museum of modern and contemporary art. In a country in constant upheaval, financing cultural institutions remains a major challenge. To address this issue, chairman Dr. Tarek Mitri and director Karina El Helou organized this gala dinner with the support of a prestigious committee: Rima Abdul Malak, Aline Asmar from Amman, Chris Dercon, Floriane de Saint Pierre, Samia Saouma and Hala Wardé.
All proceeds from the dinner will go to the Sursock Museum in support of its cultural, heritage and educational missions. This significant gesture attests to the deep attachment of an international community to Lebanon’s artistic influence.
