Casa Monti x Laura Gonzalez: Hoisting the Colours

See Rome and die. But not before we’ve stayed at the Casa Monti. Decorated by interior designer Laura Gonzalez, the venue was designed as an artist’s residence, filled with murals, colourful artworks, Greco-Roman sculptures, ceramics and beautiful books. Once a local police station, the 5-star establishment boasts 36 rooms, some of which have small balconies, and features illustrations by Paolo Sorrentino. The walls are decorated with precious, colourful fabrics by Italian company Dedar and bathrooms covered in pink and red travertine. Everything, even the most insignificant trinket bowl, comes from the maison Ginori 1735 and the beauty products are from Susanne Kaufmann. Even the staff uniforms, handmade by the Le Tre Sarte brand, embody Italian chic. From A to Z, it’s all about making guests feel they’ve reached the pinnacle of refinement. And to be fair, that’s precisely what it feels like.
